Via in the shadow of your heart
So, here we have Steve Thompson’s rendition of Star Wars characters in crayon wax. I mostly like them because they are tiny and nerdtastic.
I’ve seen carvings in other writing utensils (the tips of pencils.. I’ll have to post those sometime as they are even tinier and more detailed.) But, I think that one of the things that makes these stand out is the fact that they take into account the crayons color for the subject. I really want to try this.
During my art review, one of the professors asked if I preferred to work on a small scale. He was referring to a set of works that is actually quite /large/ for me. I probably should have mentioned that and I probably should stop trying to make my work larger if it has the natural tendency to exist on a smaller scale.
